Koi Aap Sa and Pyaar mein Twist

some of the latest Sonu Nigam songs...

Koi Aap Sa

Pyaar-Mohabbat returns with a bang in the form of 'Tere Dil Ka Rishta', a solo by Sonu Nigam that gets the album back in the groove. A track about a guy wiping tears off his best friend, it has some touching lyrics by Sameer that should sound quite well in the narrative of the movie. A song about hope and affection, it never drags and instead peps up the mood. The feel of the song is again typically Himesh Reshammiya i.e. melodious and sugar-candy. A sweet number with an effective chorus, it is sure to bring on a smile.

Just like 'Aadat', a remix of 'Bandh Mere Pairon Mein' arrives before its original. Choodi, kangan, jhumka, jhoomar, payalia, Reshammiya, Sameer – and you have all the ingredients ready for a tried and tested recipe. The trouble in the case of 'Bandh Mere Pairon Mein' is its all so predictable that there is a strong feeling of déjà vu, what with the tune being so similar to Reshammiya's own 'Saawariya Re O Saawariya' from 'Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye’. Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan are all excited and spirited with Jayesh providing "outside support", but overall the track somehow fails to click as it doesn't have the ONE important factor going in its favor - "listener going for that 'repeat' button"!

The album seems to be going in a see-saw mode with songs alternating between melodious and dance track. Hence it is the turn of a melodious track to come up next which incidentally is the title song 'Koi Aap Sa'. A Sonu Nigam-Alka Yagnik song, it is good to hear but lacks the effect that one expected from the title song of a romantic movie. Sounding oh-so-similar to 'Ik Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai [Shor], it is a decent number though and a fine listening but that's about it. Nothing everlasting about it!

Pyaar mein Twist

Undoubtedly the best song in the entire soundtrack in the movie, 'Dhui Rappa' [that has accompanying beats straight out of 'Banke Tera Jogi' from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani - again by Jatin Lalit] it is a frothy track sung quite well in the youthful vocals of Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan. With plain and simple lyrics by Sameer given a feel good tune by Jatin Lalit, the song has all the potential to be popular.

** i havent really seen pyar mein twist around yet, but i heard the koi aap sa songs, they're quite ok, but i absolutely fell in love with Tere Dil Ka Rishta by Sn of course...its such a fresh, sweet, beautiful song...mostly sweet actually, its a lot of joy to listen to it, very dil-touching...=) and the tune is very nice too, of course, so overall its a really great song, sonu nigam's voice enhances the entire thing...unfortuntely i didnt fall in love with the other SN songs from koi aap sa...they're ok, but nothing that great...of course SN sings well in it, worth listening to the song just to hear SN's voice, but the songs themselves arent that fantastic...

Tere dil ka rishta rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
