Sonu turning a film composer

After composing and singing for his last album ‘Chanda ki Doli’, which went to become a big hit, Sonu Nigam is taking his composing career seriously. The album also bagged the best pop album of the year award at the MTV Immies. The album was highly appreciated and proved his prowess in both signing and composing. Following his stance, leading producers from the industry had approached him to compose music for their films. So Sonu has started thinking seriously about the career prospect of composing.

Confirming the news Sonu said that three leading producers of the industry have approached him to compose music for their film. He is still contemplating the take and has asked them to wait for a few months before he goes ahead with his decision. Something positive is likely to come from his side if they’re ready to wait. After winning the MTV award, many from the industry called him to convey their good wishes to him. This is when many producers showed their inclination to work with him.

Sonu is currently working on another project with a leading classical music maestro. It will be an exclusive semi-classical album. He will give his vocals for the album and will not be composing it. Sonu puts in, "I decided to go with it since I have been wanting to come out with an album on classical music for quite some time now. Rendering film music has become my mainstay but the bigger challenge is in exploring my voice for a classical album. I don’t want to grow old in music and regret that I never quite explored this idea," he says.

**Hey this is soooo cool! I'm so glad for you Sonu! Firstly with the success in composing...wow...it'll be cool to hear film songs composed by the one and only Sonu Nigam...and secondly, a very exciting thing..the classical album...wow! I'm waiting eagerly for it...don't know how long it'll be before it comes out though...i'm sure it'll be fantastic...yayy!!!

Dabur unveils new campaign for Honitus Cough Drops

Dabur India Ltd., one of India's leading Ayurvedic Healthcare FMCG companies, on Monday unveiled its new communication campaign for its cough lozenges - Honitus Cough Drops.

The new campaign features singer Sonu Nigam & the famed Indian Idol finalist Rahul Vaidya. This will be their first ad.

The creative approach for the new campaign revolves around the superior taste & relief attributes of Honitus cough drops. The advertisement connects with the teens, prime target audience for the category, and illustrates the fact that Honitus cough drops provide quick relief without an unpleasant taste through the tagline - 'honitus ka real honey - khich khich kharash chalti bani'. This is illustrated by Sonu Nigam offering Rahul Vaidya - a singing competition contestant, Honitus cough drops after the latter's complaint of an unpleasant tasting lozenge from many sore throat remedies currently available.

"Sonu Nigam, being a singer, exemplifies the benefits of Honitus cough drops & connects with the target audience. His recent association with a singing realty contest finds relevance with the campaign concept. At present, the Rs 130 crore cough Lozenges market is witnessing a single digit growth annually. Our foray into the lozenges segment has redefined the category and are confident that with the new communication campaign will boost brand growth", said Dilip Bhujbal, Senior General Manager (Sales & Marketing), Dabur Consumer Health, Dabur India Ltd, elaborating on the new campaign.

** LOL they have a picture from the ad so I decided to post part of the article here...doesnt he look good? I love the way he's been doing his hair lately...none of the long stuff...just short and gelled up...=)
